How to setup Digg to blog to Blogger Beta

I have just switched to Blogger Beta yesterday, thinking that it would just be an improved version of Blogger, well, it may be so, but I've encountered a problem already. When I tried to blog a Digg post to my blog today, I got the error:

Error From Your Blog

com.google.blogger.api.UserMigratedException: The given Blogger account has been migrated to a Google Account on the Blogger beta

This is because I am now on Blogger Beta, and my username and password has changed to my Google account.

So I thought, ok, I'll go and change my username and password, and the following error appeared:

ERRORS

There was an error accessing your blog. Please check the settings under Blogging Preferences. One of them (such as Username or Password) may be incorrect.

OK, so it doesn't work that way, I need to try and setup manually, since Blogger Beta is not in the list of "Type of Blog" drop down box.

There are a few fields I can fill in easily, such as Username, Password, and Blog API can be ignored, URL of Blog I presume is http://beta.blogger.com/, as that is the URL to access Blogger Beta, but what is the URL for XML-RPC of Blog? I have tried to search on Digg and Google to find a solution, but have had no luck so far. I will be in touch with Blogger and Digg and find a solution to this.

For now, post a comment if you have encountered the same problem, it would be even better if you have actually solved the problem, and let me know how to blog Digg posts to Blogger Beta.

  • I was just about to set mine up and got the same error message. I'm glad it's not just me. Now I know it's not ME doing something wrong.

  • I really wish someone would fix this already.

    It's too bad Digg doesn't do as many other sites do and provide html txt for each post. YouTube, Google Video, and even Flickr do this. At least then if the automatic post doesn't work you can just copy the html & paste it into a blog post. Although with YouTube & Flickr it's not even necissary anymore because THEY work with Blogger Beta.

    Yeah, that's nice and all, but everyone knows Google's products are all in nearly eternal beta.

    The GMail beta will be at 3 years in April.

  • I'm having the same problem. I just migrated to the new blogger and can't get it to work properly. I'm trying to post docs from Google docs & spreadsheets and I keep getting the same error.
